I got out of my shorts on this one ... too many "Rumors on the Internets" that this could actually happen. Blog chatter seems to be that if he announces it will be after Super Tuesday, when he can figure out who his opponents would be.

It will be an interesting contract for the gutsy. Will either drop like a rock, or rocket up by then....

IMO, he'll step in if there is a fragmented pool amongst Republicans and Democrats. Or, if each field is set to put forth a polarizing candidate (i.e. Hillary and Huckabee). Too much overlap with Guiliani. So if Guiliani is the candidate, I doubt he'll go forward.

Even though I disagree with him on a few issues, this guy would get **** done in office. A saner/smarter version of Perot could make a good run at it.

Never underestimate the EGO of a guy like Bloomberg.
Personally, I can't stand him and his nanystatism.
I hope King Mike does not run.

And if anything, it'll be Obama as VP on the Bloomberg ticket - definitely not the other way around.

It's a sad thing to watch America being manipulated (pulling the strings) by billionaires. Washington is corrupt to the bone. It's all about the money.

Ah, if I'd only held on a few more days. I did make a buck or two. But this contract has just been halved on a spurt of volume... Did the "smart money" recently make a move?

The "smart money" realizes there's not much chance of Bloomberg announcing a run before the contract expires in a matter of hours.

??? There is nothing in the language of the contract stating that it expires Dec 31. I figured it would expire next year, after the election.

Looks like you have a better understanding of Intrade contract expiration policy than I do. The "contract expiry and fees" section of the contract listed an official contract expiry date of Dec. 22 2007 but when I wrote to Intrade Help asking why the contract was not expired, here's the response I got:

Thanks for your enquiry. These dates were set as a guide when the contracts were first opened some months ago and will be updated. The candidates in questions till have time to launch a campaign so the contracts will remain open.

Please let us know if we can help you further.

Kind regards,
