I'm hoping that Nielsen corrects its mistake when it publishes the final numbers.

Looks like $79.2 is the final and correct number.

$26.8m Friday, $27.4m Saturday, $21.2m Sunday + $3m for Thurs midnight which is officially counted on Friday = $79.2

The big lesson is caveat emptor on these movie contracts.

Where the heck did you get your numbers? Might want to check that math again... there is no possible way to get that to add to 79.2. Even if we round up every decimal by 1 to account for possible rounding error, you can't get there.

You probably took the numbers from Box Office Mojo. The 26.8 on Friday already includes the 3 million from Thursday at midnight. If you add the three numbers presented, you get the weekend total indicated by Box Office Mojo, 75.2M.

I think you were just trying to make it look like it added up to the numbers Nielsen has, which are just plain wrong. They have included the additional showings from Thursday.

Either way, the conflict doesn't matter in this case. But this type of stuff needs to be clarified by intrade.

I was a little worried about the 80. That was close.

75.2 is the final and correct number.

Too bad we didn't have a $75 million contract; it would've gotten interesting.

Good luck next week.
